Hey Mom! Wow, you must have been
really tired last night, your spelling was competing with mine now!😉
Hahaha I about died when
you told me about the hot dogs and wienerschnitzel! [Dad wanted to go to Costco and get a hotdog because he said it would remind us of Macey in Germany and weiner schnitzel. His Dad jokes are pretty lame, I know! MOM] Had I not gone to Germany, I
never would have known the difference! Hot dogs are wursts, and wienerschnitzel
is actually pork cut really, really thin’ and then basically deep fried! And
its really big, usually bigger that the plate when its street food!
Awh, I love Mr. Blaine Ward!
I remember when I went to the that one year and Br Smith won! That was
hilarious! The shirts his kids wore! They totally bribed my vote.... but they
deserved it, so it’s all good. What is EG and why is it busy? I feel like that’s
a dumb question, but I don’t know😂 [I said EQ, which is Elders Quorum at church. MOM]
About the suitcases, I’ll
probably survive I guess... they are just a bit of a pain, but I will probably
only have one more area on my mission! Speaking of which, I try to tell you
when they start and end but I think I should be better about that. We get
transfer calls this week already, and the transfer ends on April 18th! Then the
next transfer is 7 weeks long, starting on April 18th. Can you believe that I
have just over 4 transfers left on my mission? I slightly freak sometimes
wondering how in the world its gone this fast. Do you think it’s gone fast? Or
maybe as people normally say it, the weeks are slow, but the months are fast! I
feel like this transfer just blew by because it was only 4 weeks!
We have some big, big news
for our mission, Elder Rasband is coming! EEEEEK! At first it was just
announced that he is going to be there for a special stake conference in Berlin
on Sunday and that us missionaries in the Berlin zone would get to go! Then we
found out he is doing a missionary conference on Saturday, but only our half of
the mission! I was pretty sad for all of the missionaries in the west, but I
found out today that they changed it to the whole mission! THE WHOLE MISSION IS
GETTING TOGETHER ON SATURDAY! That hasn’t happened in over 2 years! This is a
big deal! Plus, we have ZoKo with half of our mission on Wednesday, so this
week is just filled with meetings and special stuff! Oh, and we have
sisters overnighting with us or exchanging with us every single night this
week! It’s going to be craaaaazy!
My birthday was awesome.
Really, Sister Hansen did everything she could to make it perfect! We made a
fancy crepe breakfast together in the morning! It looked so beautiful, and it
was so yummy with STRAWBERRIES! Plus, she secretly had her mom order stuff on
amazon and send it for my birthday! So, I got a cute little present from her in
the morning! (P.S. her mom uses German amazon. It’s just amazon.de
so then you get basically free shipping and can order pretty much whatever you
want! The downside is in think it might be in German... but if you wanted to
try it you could use google translate, Brother Heule or send me screenshots!
Sister Hansen’s birthday is next month, and I need to get her something good!)
But she even made cute little decorations and put them up when I was in the
shower! I love her, she is so great!
After that, we had a
leadership skype to talk about the baptismal candidates, and right as I was
talking about ours, the secretary of the church walks in and tells us he needed
his office! It was the most inconvenient time and super embarrassing because
all of the leaders of the mission were watching this on skype! 😂😂 but all is good. Then we had an awesome
exchange. I was with Sister Geer and we had such a hard-working good time
together! It’s funny to think I spent the majority of my birthday on the
streets talking to people! We had some amazing talks, and I know Heavenly
Father really blessed us for going outside of our comfort zones! Then naturally
we had a little party at night because both sisters came to our area! Maybe I’ll
upload the music video for you, we will see 😉 Sister Hansen bought these delicious donuts
from the train station (3 for a euro!) and everyone was helping with dinner, so
I made my own birthday cake😂😂 and it looked pretty good! I even
had spaghetti as candle sticks and aluminum foil flames that flew off when I
"blew the candles out". Super funny but it was a little weird and
never really felt like my birthday! Everyone agrees birthdays are weird on your
mission but it’s okay, I only have one :)
I’m really happy, I responded
to quite a few of the extended fam and fam today! I shared little spiritual
thoughts with Grandma Leta and Grandpa Dennis! They were about God's love and
just small quotes from conference talks. Do you have any ideas how I can help
some of our extended family? I think a lot about Anna, I think she could really
use the gospel in her life. And Conner. Any suggestions?
Don’t worry about the
short email! We had district pday today and I spent the day with them grilling
and playing volleyball and 4 square! It was soooo nice to be so active again, I
miss getting to play sports! Our district is the best! They are all so funny
and hard workers, we are blessed to motivate each other and strengthen the work
here.
I love you a million
lemonades on an ice-cold day! Have a happy, happy week preparing to go to Utah!
Eek that will be fun!
Love always, Sister Macey
