I cannot believe it's Wednesday again..! It was another fab week! Can I just say this again: I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY. I LOVE IT. Man, this is truly the happiest I've ever been! Here are the highlights of the week!
Top 5:
1. Back story: Growing up, Mulan was my favorite movie because I really had a thing for Captain Shang. Just a teeny little crush, nbd. Well, fast forward to last Sunday, our MTC devotional was given by Donny Osmond! He just sang the part, "lets get down to business!" as a joke, but the 8-year-old Macey inside of me almost jumped out of my seat. The rest was awesome too, he even sang a song he wrote for his son (I don't remember the name, but it's the one that makes sister missionaries miss their dads a little extra). But now I know what the first movie I will watch after my mission will be.
2. Thorpe's ankle update: she upgraded! Dresses and boots were so last week, now she's rocking the dress, ankle brace AND tennis shoes combination! Man, her fashion is way ahead of the times. And another plus: we got to roadtrip!! Well, across the street to another doctor. I attached a selfie of us in our Mormon limousine waiting to leave. But in good news, no broken ankle (just a slightly fractured ego). She's been so awesome about everything, though.
3. The ASL missionaries joined our group this week! I can report that they are my FAVORITE. I seriously cannot convey how much and more that they bring to our zone. We all instantly loved them. There is something so special about what they are able to do that no other language could compare to it. I may or may not have teared up every time they signed the hymns in church on Sunday.
4. I finally had one of those big mess ups with German... My teacher finally told me that for the past week, instead of saying "Jesus died for us", I've been saying "Jesus killed us". Yeah, that was embarrassing... But hey! On the other hand, Sis. Thorpe and I have been learning VERY useful phrases (see pic below)!
5. Elder Hallstrom, a general authority of the church, spoke to my SOUL at Tuesday's devotional. He bluntly asked us, "Have you decided what kind of missionary you are going to be yet?" I was thinking, 'Man! I've been here for 3 weeks! I don't even know how to keep track of my companion yet!' But it's so true. Missionary or not, member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints or not, you need to decide today and every day what kind of follower of Christ you are going to be. You know what is right, so choose to make your actions consistent with your knowledge!
I love you all, and happy late Father's Day to all you rockin' men!
Love, Sister Macey Ingalls
P.S. hopefully I fixed the problem with not everyone getting the email! However, if not, ask my dad because he knows everything ;-)
