Puppy Chow, My Claim to Fame and the 10 Apostles

It's Sister Ingalls again with the weekly update! (What the heck, I hit one month as a missionary this week?!?!?! Can it PLEASE slow down?!) Okay, I'm not going to lie, this week was pretty sick, so buckle up and get ready:

Top 5
1. My personal belief is to never make bets... But this one was for a good cause. And that cause was homemade puppy chow -- um I mean for the sake of learning... So one of the first lessons that missionaries teach is the Restoration, and they tend to memorize JSH 1:16-17. I learned it, and challenged my teacher, Brother Garrett, that I could say it faster. If I could, he had to make puppy chow (muddy buddies for you weird western people) for our entire class. Bro Garrett timed himself at 13.8 seconds, and I BEAT HIM with 12.6 seconds. However, he did it again and got 11.6... But I'm not giving up so stay tuned for my victory story. I did the math, and at that rate I'm speaking 328 words per minute. After this I'll be able to "auctioneer" on my resume.

2. No lie, I think I'm starting to feel the effects of not really listening to music. Yesterday, I had the graduation theme song stuck in my head ALL DAY. But on the plus side, it has caused Sister Thorpe and I to receive some amazing inspiration for an original hit... Music video is being filmed tonight...

3. Also, this week I finally started my career as a star. Hah okay, just kidding. One of my leaders found out I was related to the Ingalls family that Little House on the Prairie was based off of and was super excited. Sunday, he showed up with his season 4 box set and asked me to autograph it! Haha it was hilarious and totally made my whole day. I almost spelled my name wrong though, so I don't think the star life is for me.

4. Brace yourself, but last nights devotional was given by ELDER BEDNAR. BUT WAIT, 10 OF THE APOSTLES WERE THERE AS WELL. AND it also commemorated the 100-something anniversary of Joseph Smith's martyrdom. So yeah, that apparently only happens every 7 years. It was amazing, almost the entire set of bleachers were full of the choir singing 'Praise to the Man'. It was an electrifying few minutes, not to mention Elder Bednar's talk was outstanding. I aspire to be the scriptorian he is.

5. I read a General Conference talk named "Drawing the Power of Jesus Christ into our Lives" by Elder Nelson. If you have 10 extra minutes, read it! I won't say much other than I love it, him and my Savior. Here's the link so you don't even have to try hard to find it:

P.S. We took some cute pics with our district this week. The elders were making fun of us so naturally we took evidence of it. My district is the best and I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!

I love you all, thank you for your emails, prayers and support! Know I appreciate every single email/letter but I have limited time to respond. Tchüsses (that's not a real word but we all say it)
