FAQ: Why Do Sister Missionaries Wear So Much Black?

Picture Proof of why I always wear black....
13 Years and Counting
1. Schwester Raeska is the cutest thing ever and she deserves her own part of my top 5 of the week! She was baptized 13 years ago, and ever since has had the missionaries and a few other people over for Family Home Evening every Monday night! We play the same board game every week, and it takes FOREVER! (I thought Monopoly was bad!) After we left, I figured out that it took so long because I was too competitive... whoops #sorrynotsorry
High Hopes
2. We began teaching the new husband of a member this week, and let me tell you, he is so cool! He asks SO many awesome questions, and he has really opened his heart to hear the gospel. We have really high hopes with him this week and hope to keep making progress!
We were waiting for the church door to open for our interviews with President in Kiel and I decided to distract myself from the cold by taking a bunch of weird pictures.
I apologize on the daily to Sis Decker for my weirdness.
A Change of Heart
3. The sister missionaries have been working with Jacob and Lenard, the sons of a new convert, for quite some time. We decided to switch things up this week and work on studying the scriptures together as a family. At first they did the normal teenager thing and complained (Bros, I get you, I was there once!) but we may have bribed with ice cream (works every time). We had a question from the bible prepared, and everyone found a scripture in the Book of Mormon that either supported it or expanded on it. By the end, Lenard was so excited with his find, he exclaimed (we should do THREE questions a day!) It was amazing to see and feel the change of heart and spirit from the beginning to the end of the lesson!

4. UGH. Ok this is actually pretty dang funny but one day, I was being a good sister missionary and wearing strumpfhose, except they were tan and it was pouring rain. BIG MISTAKE. We got to our appt. and it looked like I got in a mud fight... #LessonLearned
I FOUND A REAL WATER FOUNTAIN IN GERMANY! That probably means nothing to you, but this totally made my entire day hahahah
I Know It
5. This week has probably been the busiest, most tiring week yet, but I can't help but just smile as I type this email! I LOVE THIS WORK! I'm so grateful I chose to serve a mission, and that I've been able to fully dedicate the last 6 months to share the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I know it is the truth with every ounce of my being! I know where to find true peace and joy. I know my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ. Cheers to the next year of going, doing and being what He wants me to be. :-)
Love you all! Happy, Happy Thanksgiving, and I am thankful to know every one of you!!
