You two are so funny! That voice memo just made me crack up so much, I had to keep pausing it so I could spread the joy out a little longer! (And to catch my breath in between laughing!) Don't worry it didn't make me trunky at all, you can send as many of those voice recordings as you want ;)
Your Utah trip looks like loads of fun! It's good to see the boys smiling faces again, I miss them like crazy! Now that you have this cool technology all figured out, you should do a voice recording with all of them! I just love hearing everyone's voice, it's so much better than just writing emails! You guys haven't changed one bit and now I understand where I get all of my randomness! haha oh I love my family. Enjoy the time together out there!
What did you do with the cat while you were gone? And when are you going to start watching the little baby Nash? I bet you are pretty excited about that!
It was a good week. Despite a lot of opposition, we kept pressing forward. We had solid lessons with each of our three progressing investigator ladies and they went okay! We also had quite a few handoff lessons because the rules changed and none of the missionaries teach English speaking people anymore except for the 2 sets of English missionaries. In the long run, its a very good thing. For now, its a little hectic because of all the handoffs and some sad missionaries. 3 English investigators in the zone just got put on baptismal date right before this change, and now they aren't even going to be their missionaries for the baptism. They'll still go and numbers don't matter or whose baptism it is, but it's hard anyway. Alles gut, we are going strong and have a good plan to find some more people this transfer and really see some success! Our 2 big goals are gaining the trust and relationship with the members and also a basic find, teach, baptize approach. Elder Rasband counseled us to not get distracted from seemingly good things but that don't necessarily support our missionary purpose. So we are trying to go back to the basics and I think we will see miracles! The transfer goes until June 6th I think, and I just have this awesome good feeling that we will have a baptism!
No lie, this week was good and miracle filled, but pretty hard. I just felt exhausted beyond anything I've ever felt, and that I was facing my own personal spiritual opposition, and then on top of that, the world just seemed to beat on us! I swear everyone's favorite word is no! Like c'mon, I could be handing out $100 bills to everyone and they would just flat out say no! It's okay, I know this will strengthen my testimony but goodness, have a heart people! We are here to help you! Guess I know a bit of how Jesus, the apostles and pretty much everyone in old and modern scripture feel :) #Ifeelyoubros
Saturday was actually super super cool. We had the day planned, but at about 1, we got a text from a contact and she wanted to meet with us that day! Of course we would! We shifted things, called the English sisters (because now we would have to hand this investigator off) and met up in about 2 hours! It was really funny, because Sister Hansen and I have never met her, the sisters before us found her! All we had to go off of to find her was her whatsapp profile picture! By some miracle, we were walking laps around this place trying to find her, then we saw the English sisters and waved at them, and this girl in between waved back at us! It was her! It was so funny. We went to a cafe and just started talking like crazy. Mom, it was the coolest lesson I've ever had! She's Turkish and Muslim, but speaks perfect English. She's actually just a bit older than us and super hip, works for Facebook. Sister Wood and I, studying Arabic, have learned a ton about the muslim religion and its interesting how similar it actually is (minus a few major details like they don't believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God). But we were able to understand her and ask questions, and she asked a ton about christianity and we were able to open up our minds so much and just have the best conversation! She really loved posing the question why, and that's exactly what we help people do! We invite them to search for truth! She is amazing and I hope she progresses a lot.
Makenzie Huff is engaged?! I didnt even know she had a boyfriend! I wonder if they'll get married pretty quick or if I'll be home?! I want to go!!
Pday was super super cool day! We met up with one of the members in our ward, Inga (she always covers up the last 3 letters of my name tag and thinks its so funny! She's hilarious) and went on an adventure! We saw the East Side Gallery, which is the long strip of the Berlin wall tha'ts still up. When I saw it for the first time, it totally gave me chills. The artistry is beautiful, but you look at the top and see how the wall actually used to look and it makes it all so real. This war really split a city in half! I took tons of pictures, which I really hope you like! Definitely the most I've ever sent, so hopefully that makes up for a shorter letter possibly, we are doing family home evening a little early today, so I'll have to cut emailing short! We had a picnic outside with our ward mission leader and his family, cutest family and kiddos ever! But yes, pday1 wE HAD SOOOO much fun with Inga I love her! I told her she needs to marry Tanner, they are both so cool. She's going out to Utah in September so I think we can arrange something. She served on temple square! She says his hair is too long though....ö I agree... Love him! But the hair has to go...... But anyway, we walked around for a bit, and we went to the Ritter Sport factory and I made my own little creation! Roasted coconut, rasberries and strawberries in milk chocolate! I'll test it out later this week and let you know if its good! Oh warning on the pictures - I took a picture of the new chocolate they came out with: weed. Man this city is the city of sin lol. We also went to H&M and I got the cute skirt I saw last week! I did your rule, and I wanted it 3 times! It's light, tan and SO cute! I'm so excited, best purchase in awhile. Who am turning into that I'm buying clothes?!? Well, I guess I need some new ones. Pencil skirts aren't ideal in summer and I'm also trying to be a good example and dressing really modest because sisters are having problems with wearing things too tight. Overall, super fun pday, probably the most fun one I've had in awhile!
Funny story: I was helping out with transfers in the train station last Wednesday, and the finishing missionaries came through to get to Freiberg. This one elder, I'd actually never really met him before I've just talked to him on the phone about his sisters after exchanges, but it was so funny oh my goodness. He goes to put on his backpack/luggage thing, and attached to the side is a loaf of bakery bread!! I laughed waayyy too hard, but it was so funny. I thought he was legit taking it home for his family, but it was just a snack for the train ride down! I had to get a picture of it, probably favorite picture I took this week hahahahha. I'll probably do the same thing, that was brilliant.
I love you a million walks along the East Side Gallery! I hope we can do that together someday, its amazing. Oh and a million voice recordings from you guys, my face hurts from smiling and laughing!!!
Love, Macey
