The day is coming! I'll be returning home from my mission at the beginning of next week. I'd love to thank you all for your love and support over the past 1 1/2 years (where in the world did the time go?!) Serving a mission has changed me, or rather I would say that my Savior Jesus Christ has shaped me and changed me during this time.
When I was deciding to serve a mission, I ultimately made the decision to serve after reading this verse in the Book of Mormon:
"For how knoweth a man the master he has not served, and who is a stranger unto him, and is far from the thoughts and intents of his heart?" -Mosiah 5:13
I didn't know everything, but I knew that I wanted to serve God. I wanted to learn to better do what He wants me to do. I wanted to my thoughts and intentions to be as His.
This morning, I happened to read the same chapter again, and as always, I learned something new! I read about the people rejoicing in Christ saying,
"We know of [the] truth, because of the Spirit of the Lord Omnipotent, which has wrought a mighty change in us, or in our hearts, that we have no more disposition to do evil, but to do good continually." -Mosiah 5:2
The Lord has shaped, tested and blessed me immensely in my service. When we ask to change, he will give it to us. He can change us to become a little more godly every day. I owe Him everything. I desire to serve Him, learn about Him and be changed by Him every day of my life. I'm deeply grateful for my mission. I love this work and know it's led by the Savior himself.
With love,
Sister Ingalls
