An Inspired Watermelon, a Late Night Sprint and a Surprise Translation - (Jul 16 Group Email)

*MoTab begins singing Hallelujah chorus* Sister Baldock and I are staying together in Neukölln for another 6 weeks! WE ARE SO RELIEVED! It's going to be an amazing transfer and we are excited for what's coming.

1. On Saturday, the ward was playing soccer in the morning, but we couldn't play with, so what do we do? We bring a huge watermelon at the end of the game! It was so fun, and I never realized how much joy a watermelon could bring a bunch of (very) sweaty Germans! President Leimer was 100% inspired to encourage us to give more meaningful service to our members.

2. Later that day, we get a call from the English sisters, having a bunch of things randomly come up on them and needing help. We went on splits and I suddenly found myself at President Leimer's house again, helping teach some of their friends with Sis. Wood! It was such a spiritual good time, but I started getting nervous around 9 o'clock because we needed to go home. Long story short, the sisters ended up needing to overnight with us (🎉🎉🎉). We walk to the bus stop at 9:35 met the other sisters, and then realize Sister Wood left her tablet at presidents! So what do we do? T-minus 8 minutes until the bus comes and we SPRINT. We had some God-given speedy powers to run at the end of the day like that. Oh man, it was so much farther than we thought! We grab the tablet, puffing out a mere "Gute Nacht!" to President, and sprint back. As we round the corner, we see the trusty M11 bus already pulled up. We still can't see the sisters, but with whatever breath we could still muster, we screamed, "GET ON THE BUS!!!!", rounded the next corner and practically dove into the bus. Geschafft. We were feeling pretty accomplished (and extremely sweaty!) that night. We still can't believe we made it 😂

3. Emmanuel was baptized on Sunday! It was so exciting, he was truly prepared and ready to follow Jesus Christ and make a covenant with God. The lovely brother is from Ghana, so I offered to real time translate. I got up and stood next to the speaker, and he starts talking in English. I jokingly translate it into German, then expect him to start actually speaking. No, I misunderstood and he wanted to speak in English and I translate into German! It was all just a funny scene. I ended up doing it and it was super fun! That was definitely a first though!

4. Just as a nice bowl of cereal starts my day off right, I love to start off our work time by simply getting chances to share my testimony on the street. It brings the courage I need for the day, like ripping off a bandaid! Well, that didn't happen on Friday because of meetings and quick visits. That is, until 1 pm. I was feeling pretty bad (and also pretty hungry, it was lunch time!). We then decided we weren't going to eat lunch until we could share our testimony with someone. We start walking, and for some reason, there was not a SINGLE person on the street. We walk for 5, 10 then 15 minutes nothing. What kind of huge city with millions of people are you, Berlin?! I gave Heavenly Father my entire heart in prayer, begging for this experience. Finally, on the way to the church 20 minutes later, we met Julia. She was so open and we had an amazing discussion about God. She was so excited to read the Book of Mormon, and we both left grinning ear to ear. I love getting to share my testimony! Love it! Lunch tasted much better after that.

Sorry this is ridiculously long AND I don't have pictures this week so I'm sending a couple more from pday last week... Well, if you read one thing, it's this: I LOVE YOU ALL AND I KNOW THE BOOK OF MORMON IS TRUE!
