Your Little Email Made My Life! (Jul 8)

Hey Mom!
Haha so sorry my spelling was horrible, I really tried! If I correct every mistake, then I can’t write as much. Last week because of district pday, we wrote them all on phones by the river, and it’s hard to type fast on these things!! I prefer the computer, but we rarely get 2 hours to sit down and write. Thank goodness for technology!

We are visiting the Berliner Dome today, it should be pretty exciting! We also get in for free because we are missionaries, so even better๐Ÿ˜„

OH. MY. GOSH. I GOT THE PACKAGES THIS WEEK!! YOU ARE THE SWEETEST THING IN THE WORLD AND I’M SENDING YOU THE BIGGEST HUG AND THANK YOU EVER!! The dresses and clothes all fit perfectly, and they are so cute!! You seriously did such a good job. I love them all and it was so fun to wear them this week! Man, they are such good quality too, I feel like a new missionary entering the MTC. Thank you so much for everything, even the sweets, snacks, makeup bags and PENS! Oh those things are golden and I’m set forever. I don’t think I could want or need for anything else ever again. Seriously, I feel a little spoiled๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜‚ I love everything and from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU. You better believe we did a silly little photoshoot to show you all of the dresses :) plus, I put on an extra outfit to match the doll! She is so cute, give Mary my biggest thank you! That was so kind and its super cute! I love that she’s wearing my happy shirt and carrying a book of Mormon! It’s so cute.

Sounds like a party of a 4th of July for you! The house probably looks completely different. I loved the pictures you sent of the house and deck, etc. You absolutely gave us the best childhood we could receive by living in that neighborhood and making our house a home. I love you unimaginably for that. You are quite the mom.

These calendars are quite handy for me! It seems like you send them every week haha the weeks are just flying by me! Crazy to think that Maddie is heading home today! She’s actually one of my friends I’ve kept in decently good contact with over the mission. I can tell she really did a good job and gave her all, she really inspired me a ton at the beginning of my mission to work harder.

Healthy living is not easy.  For example, we work with M to stop smoking. It is so so so incredibly hard for her. She’s been smoking for 40-50 years. Like, imagine how hard it would be to suddenly change after that long?! Well, I feel we've legit tried everything, but not much has worked. I’ve learned a lot from it, though. The number one thing that worked with her is to replace the habit. She can’t just go cold turkey on smoking and just say, “Ok, now I’m not going to smoke”. If she makes that decision to cut it out, she has to fill that time with better things or else she'll fall back immediately. So, what I mean is, for example, every morning she'd get up and drink coffee and smoke to start her day. But now, we try to teach her to get up and go for a walk and read her scriptures. She has to replace her addiction with good, nonharmful things then it isn’t so much of a shock! So, it also isn’t good for our bodies to just be like, “Okay I’m not going to eat any more sugar, bread, meat whatever, without having a replacement”. That’s just my theory and its worked with not eating certain things for long term fasts and stuff! I don’t know if that made much sense, but it's important to do hard things and stretch yourself. Find a new kind of exercise. Try a new recipe. Try vegetarian or vegan for a week. Healthy changes are good but change is hard! I also know Heavenly Father will bless you physically and spiritually when you read your scriptures and pray every day.

Oh, and ps so sorry for not sending the pictures last week. I meant to upload them to my drive in my free time, but I legit didn’t have it! Plus, I shouldn’t be doing that on pday and my tablet was dead so I had no way to upload them. Be prepared for a HUGE picture overload this week!

You and Dad got a new truck, huh? That’s so cool! What do you think? Is it still hard to drive? Man, I find driving a truck hard? I wonder if I even know how to drive anymore? ๐Ÿค”

My week was really good! It definitely started off with a spiritual high at MLC! MLC is basically just another zone conference type of meeting for the leaders. President and Sister Leimer are so amazing!! It was so inspiring, and I really am excited for the future. I learned so much, not just like good spiritual things but really how to improve my teaching and finding and overall just how to do the missionary work!

My exchanges were also really good this week. I wasn’t even home for a full day the whole week except for Sunday! It was nice to visit some other areas and work hard helping them. I learn so much from them and I love these sisters like crazy :)

I feel like I had one of the best Sundays in this ward yet. I was sooo tired haha Sundays are when we are completely dead, but President Leimer counseled us that when we are with members, its work time and we should give our absolute best! So, I was determined to shove aside any tired feelings and throw the biggest smile on my face. It was totally not easy, but it was so worth it, I was just so happy all day! And I just asked everyone how we could help them during this week, that seemed to also help. I mean, they didn’t need help but they offered to have us over for dinner๐Ÿ˜‚

Yup that’s about it! My week felt weird not working in our area, but it’s all good and I get this whole week now! This Saturday we have transfer calls, but I’m hoping and praying I don’t leave. I’m not done with this area and these people, and we are starting some really cool things. We shall see though, but I’m really hoping not (which is funny, after 3 transfers in the others areas, I was like yup I’m done!)

I love you a million dresses from the US! Seriously, that meant the world to me. YOU mean the world to me! Have a happy week!

Love, Sister Ingalls
P.S. Your little email to me a couple days ago made my LIFE!! That was so cute thanks๐Ÿ˜Š
